synopsis

Discovering you had a soul match was incredibly rare. It meant finding your perfect partner for life. Whether through the bonds of friendship, family or romance, it was a promise that if both halves of the soul matched so wished, love like no other would blossom.

A soul match was nothing more than a fantasy for most. That’s what half-witch Percy Flores had believed until her soul match arrived unannounced in the form of a vampire princess, Selene Borealis, forever altering her life.

Selene doesn’t want a soul match in the form of low-born Percy. If not for a mysterious enemy threatening her future throne, she would never have sought her out.

Now out of place, far from home, and desperately trying to form a bond with her soul match, Percy must contend with an at times cruel and sadistic Mistress while navigating a new world full of high-born nobles and very real danger.

  • This just wasn’t really it for me
  • Was it necessarily that bad nothe readability was great ‐ I flew through this they paced it out well ‐ I really didn’t like the characters in this they were so simple and very childish ‐ same thing goes for the plot
  • Percy is extremely infantilized and that is simply not my thing at all ‐ honestly her personality did not click w/ me and there was pretty much nothing about her I could relate to ‐ it was fun to argue with myself in my head about her thoughts and decisions tho
  • I liked Selene a lot moreshe had some depth and mystery to her that was severely lacking in most of the other characters ‐ I think this whole book would’ve been 10x better if it was from her POV bc she actually did shit ‐ while I did like her more than Percy she still did some craaazy shit ‐ she was just straight up abusive to Percy at times which had me taking breaks from the book a little honestly ‐ I stuck through bc she’s supposed to be this morally grey not totally good not totally bad character and with the relationship she had w/ Percy (master/slave) it wasn’t unexpected (that doesn’t mean that I liked it or thought it was ok tho)
  • The plot was simple, predictable, and not very well developedthe villain was obvious and more of an annoyance than anything to actually be scared for the main characters over ‐ maybe if they gave the ending more time and space it could’ve been better? Idk obviously this book isn’t really about the plot as much as its about the romance but I mean if you want to do a fantasy and build this whole world up you gotta give us something decent w/ the plot ‐ like shake something up give me something interesting that will make me actually want to read the next book (besides the smut lmao)
  • Her writing style honestly wasn’t that bad I would probably read something by them again if they were to explore a different genre
  • Predictions: they become soulmates (bonded) ‐ Selene becomes Queen ‐ Selene’s Dad dies ‐ Percy gets some crazy powers
  • Wouldn’t read againmight finish the series but it’s not something I will ever rush to complete ‐ but I would recommend to people who like this type of bookit’s good for what it is which is like a vessel for dom/sub smut action lmao
  • When Selene killed that girl who hurt Percy
  • Epilogue
