synopsis
Slinging hotdogs may not be the most glorious side gig, but hey, if it paid for college, that’s all Emma could ask for. And let’s be real, of all the crowds in the world, what were the odds that Comic-Con would get Portalled next?
Emma really should’ve known better. Once again, the universe conspires against her, and now she’s stuck in a world where the laws of physics don’t seem to apply, and even the grass is trying to kill her. She better pay close heed to the Artificial Intelligence guiding her and make some new friends fast, because out here, it’s thrive or die.
And no amount of videogames prepared her for a world where you can actually gain Skills and level up. Or to face a series of trials that seem designed to kill her rather than teach her how to survive… What could possibly be the real goal of the mysterious ‘predecessors’ that built them?
rant
- Great for a Litrpg
- not the most advanced writing style out there but also better than the wattpad style most litrpgs have
- Probably the only sapphic litrpg I’ll read for a while bc they’re basically nonexistent (at least good ones) so I’m definitely gonna cherish this while it lasts
- Great intro to this new world / arena great world building ‐ kind of scared for what lies in the future since they can easily die
- The talking crystals in their skulls have a little too much personality for me ‐ feels like maybe it’s people running the crystals from outside the arena that’s why they know each other??
- Love her little team she formed ‐ Dave is great, Alex is annoying af (there’s always one), Kaitlynn is chill kind of babyish tho especially the voice the narrator gave her ‐ I’m so tired of these narrators giving grown ass women the voice of children it’s sooo weird to me ‐ idk enough about Jacob yet but he seems super chill
- I’m already scared and anxious of them meeting back up w/ that one guy in the future
- The stats were so confusing and it took me forever to understand all of them bc there were sooo many
- Can’t wait for them to get high level skills and develop them
- Will the whole group make it to the end??
- Would definitely read again
