synopsis
Ellie Beckett’s life is simple and uncomplicated; she’s on track to become a leading expert in biomedical engineering, she has a pub where she feels comfortable enough to hang out multiple times a week, and, so what if she doesn’t have time for… people? She doesn’t need or want them.
Until she meets Mia Sharpe.
As it it turns out, maybe Ellie does want at least one person.
rant
- Been wanting to read this for awhile now and it was good
- Didn’t expect this to be a slow burn but it was a veeerryyy slow burn
- Definitely one of those book where you’re kind of just screaming in you’re head “when tf are they going to confess their feelings for each other??” bc they literally just like never did (until like the last 10 pages) ‐ which was honestly kind of frustrating but understandable bc like yeah scary
- Ellie’s yearning/pining made me feel so bad for her ‐ having to watch Mia date other ppl / talk with her ex while being in love with her and still trying to be her best friend?? yeah I couldn’t do it (but I’m also a lot more selfish than her)
- The writing style was great ‐ I’ve read this author before but I didn’t remember liking her style this much ‐ the audiobook narrator was also great ‐ one of the better audiobooks I’ve listened too
- Not sure if I would read again ‐ honestly this might have been a little too angsty for me which is something I thought I would never say
