synopsis
For the first time, Regan Gallagher is facing the world without her best friend by her side – no, Sutton isn’t dead but she is in Rome, following her dreams. And Regan really is thrilled for her. Left to her own devices, she’s doing… fine.
Oh, except for the fact that her new roommate, Emma Bordeaux, has hated Regan since the literal day they’d met two years ago. Sure, most of their interactions end in disaster and Regan is the root cause, but they are all accidents! She’ll win Emma over though; she’s determined to make this living arrangement work come hell or high water.
Emma never planned on finding herself living with the most frustrating person she’d ever met, but for rent this low, she’s positive that she can put up with anything Regan throws her way.
What she isn’t sure she can handle is her mom returning to her life, wanting to bond with Emma. She definitely doesn’t know how to manage her mom believing that she and Regan are a couple. And she doesn’t want to deal with the fact that Regan seems far too into acting the part.
Perhaps the most daunting aspect of all is realizing that she might have been wrong about Regan all along…
rant
- good book ‐ I obviously didn’t read the synopsis that well bc I didn’t know that this was going to be a fake relationship book but I actually really liked it ‐ I think I’ll try to read some more w/ that trope
- Again w/ Haley Cass I really like pretty much everything about this book her writing style is great, she’s very detailed, and she doesn’t skimp on plot or character development whatsoever ‐ which I lovveee
- I love how she develops characters to where you can see and watch how they change and grow throughout the story w/o them becoming a brand new bitch like that’s what I mean when I say I love consistent character development like even through they change they’re still the same at their core and she’s good at that
- The audiobook narrator was good too not as good as In the Long Run but Lori Prince is like a staple for sapphic audiobooks can’t really go too wrong w/ her
- Regan was quirky, fun, and so entertaining to read about ‐ Emma was chill a little grumpy and balanced her out sooo well + her family drama only made her more interesting
- Honestly, can’t think of any critiques on this 10/10 loved it ‐ would definitely read again
- Side note: apparently, Regan is pronounced Ree-gan and Reagan is pronounced Ray-gan (I think)
