synopsis
Separated by fear. Reunited by fate. Will they get a second chance at life and love?
Parker Snow left home at nineteen after being abandoned by her family for loving her foster sister, Kate Cain. She joined the Marine Corps and has had little contact with her parents since. But when she’s transferred back to Washington D.C. and informed that Kate is dying, Parker returns home, filled with anger and fear.
As she struggles to reconnect with her family and adjust to a place that no longer feels like home, Parker has the chance to rekindle her relationship with Kate, the woman she never stopped loving. However, their reunion may be brief and bittersweet. With time running out to find a liver donor, Parker and Kate must navigate their way through their complicated past and uncertain future. Will they be able to find the love and happiness they deserve, or will fate intervene once again?
– the characters in this were so good – perfectly flawed if that makes sense – literally everybody was going through it and was an emotional wreck (which made things a little messy) including me
– I was like this (ʃƪ˘ﻬ˘) the entire time w/ Parker and Kate I loved them sm
– the plot, readability and writing style were top tier 4 me – I did skim through some of the slower parts tho
– would 100% read again
– the angst, tension, yearning happening already 🫶🏽
– also Kate and Parker haven’t even interacted yet and I already feel the years of chemistry between them lmao
– also I can tell that family relationships is a big theme in this & I hope she’s able to make up w/ them bc it seems like they miss her bad (but lowkey maybe the dad is ruining everything? men suck)
– also this ultimatum? Did her parents choose Kate over her? ☹️ or did she like leave so Kate could stay? either way that’s fucked
– I like that Kate and Parker aren’t dancing around the situation and talking about it honestly I would’ve hated if they tried to avoid it like at all lol
– I liked how this ended tho Parker is literally the sweetest – I love that’s she willing to be the bad guy so ppl don’t hate on Kate (っ’-‘)╮=͟͟͞͞💌
– thank god Parker is a match tho I couldn’t tell if this was gonna be one of those books where the sick person dies in the end or not and it was stressing me out
