synopsis

A natural moat called the Luo river split the great land into two. Jing of the north, and Wei of the south.

☑ Notes:

  • there’s way to many chapter so im going do my fav chapters the same way that i do webtoons
  • had to dnf bc I just wasn’t feeling the plot anymore ‐ I think I just attached myself to Jingnu, Shunu and Qi Yan and just looking at the amount of pages and the amount of hurt these characters are going to go through I just don’t think I can do it ‐ my chest feels heavy just thinking about it and I don’t like to feel this way when reading a book
  • i will say the characters in this are good and very complex as well as the plot ‐ it’s definitely a good story no doubt just not for me :/

  • honestly the translation for this is a bit clunky w/ that phrasing sometimes so I get confused about characters intentions sometimes, especially Qi Ya ‘s but I think this ch. like not everything she does is conniving and that she actually wants Jingnu to be happy u til she has to kill her I guess? and that’s why they’re going to end up falling in love?
  • also I forget that Jingnu is literally 14 hopefully there’s a time jump soon lol

  • I’m literally in shock rn I don’t understand what just happened ‐ I needed more of Qi Yan’s inner thoughts not Jingnu’s… ‐ honestly this is the one time I’m not going to just completely dnf just bc of the context surrounding this and the fact that I knew this was going to be a dark novel and abuse was possible ‐ I want to see how the author handles it first ‐ I’m not sure if she was trying to humiliate her or what ‐ she needs Jingnu to like her and the news she just received would’ve probably thrown me into psychosis tbh especially if I had to live everyday w/ the ppl that were responsible for it so this was definitely like a lapse in judgment (an explanation not an excuse) ‐ anyways I’ve definitely lost respect for her that I’m not sure she’s ever going to get back so if anything like this happens again I’m gonna be done bc she won’t be redeemable to me anymore
  • ik I probably sound hypocritical as if I’m ok w/ mental abuse but not physical but really it’s just that I can’t do both ‐ pick one bc I’m not about to just sit here and watch this girl get shit on in every way possible that’s not for me

  • im even more confused now ‐ it doesn’t matter what the context is even if she did put the lantern up she said let go multiple times ‐ I get that she feels like shes in the wrong for “causing” the whole situation in the first place but at the same time both of them knew that the red lantern means something else in their relationship…
  • idk this must be a cultural difference or something but it makes me sad that neither of these girls know that what happened was wrong no matter the circumstances
  • and the whole snitching thing I don’t understand either
