synopsis

“…200 years of secrecy, all gone in moments. You chose to use your magic publicly.”
“I chose to save the lives of hundreds of people.”

The fiery revelation of magic’s existence by the witches of EVE has been met with excitement, wonder, acceptance… and fear. While Longstown is abuzz with the energy of hosting its first suffrage rally, the witches of EVE are trying to come to terms with their sudden notoriety. Attention is falling on them from every angle, and it results in a pair of invitations that they are unable to refuse. To witness the signing of the Treaty of Versailles is the chance of a lifetime, the end of the war that changed them forever. But when a new witch suddenly arrives to demand Victoria and Katya explain themselves to the first Great Council of witches in over 200 years, it could spell the end of EVE. Or witchkind as they know it.

  • this one definitely slowed down a bit from the last one at least action wise
  • It’s so crazy how Victoria’s powers just keep expanding, and her physicist mind goes like 100 miles per minute ‐ also, her just subtly discovering how to create a nuke was crazy
  • I was actually so sad that Millie didn’t get to go w/ Elise to France for her first time back, like that was so evil
  • Pretoria’s POV’s were so boring I basically skimmed through them idk it just felt like the same story we’ve heard like 7 different times at this point but I do love her power ‐ also skipped like the first 100 pages of this book too bc I just didn’t want to read about Grace lol
  • The council meeting was intense and again I was devastated by the ending I love Selene, and I do not want her to basically not be in the books anymore :/
  • This book all in all wasn’t that memorable, which is crazy bc it’s like the mid series finale, but it lacked that wow factor
  • Vita becoming a doctor
  • Mille and Elise’s reunion
  • Svet learning she could get help w/ her manifest
  • Millie being teacherly/motherly w/ Pretoria
  • Alex coming out of her shell in this book
