synopsis
It was supposed to be just a one-night stand.
After being diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, twenty-five-year-old Jill Corrigan takes herself off the romantic market. Not wanting to become a burden to a potential partner, she focuses on her career as an actress instead.
On the set of a disaster movie, she meets stunt woman Kristine “Crash” Patterson, whose easy smile instantly makes Jill wish things were different. Meanwhile, Crash is trained to fall, but she didn’t count on falling in love.
Despite their growing feelings for each other, Jill resolves to let Crash into her bed, but not her heart.
As they start to play with fire on and off camera, will they really be able to keep things just physical?
rant
- good book for Jae definitely one of her better ones imo
- I really liked Crash even before she outed herself as a Leo ‐ honestly one of the few Leo sapphic characters out there ppl don’t like to write Leos 😭 ‐ I liked Jill too obviously she was extremely stubborn like stated multiple times throughout the book but I love a character who stands on business and Jill definitely did that ‐ she told crash she didn’t want to date her long term and she stood on that u til like the last 5ish percent of the book lol
- Their chemistry was great and this is one of the books I feel like she paced out very well just enough where it kept me entertained all the way through to the end
- I loved how informative this was about MS or just people dealing with chronic illnesses in general ‐ I feel like a lot of the focus nowadays is more on mental illness / disabilities that there isn’t much fiction wise about people with physical ones ‐ I honestly couldn’t imagine trying to date knowing that your partner one day might become your caregiver (honestly I’m only 22 now so lowkey a new fear was unlocked w/ this seeing as most patients are diagnosed at 35 according to this book)
- I knew Crash wasn’t really gonna have a problem with what might happen to Jill in the future once she said she was a Leo bc if there’s one thing a Leo is it’s LOYAL (if we actually care about u) that counts through thick & thin no matter what
- Honestly, this didn’t really have enough in it for me to read it again one time was enough maybe if I come back and decide to read the first 2 I might be compelled to read this again
