synopsis

Though she’s still struggling to put her personal life back together a year after leaving Los Angeles, Mallory Collingswood’s career is perfectly on track as she takes to the role of Leader of the London Symphony Orchestra like it’s her birthright. She’s determined to focus on her music and enjoy her second year back home when she’s approached about a collaboration with the Royal Ballet. It’s a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity that only a fool would turn down…or accept, depending on the outcome. Taking on the role will mean working harder than she ever has in her life, and performing in a way she never has alongside the Royal Ballet’s brightest star. Individually, they are opposites in almost every way, but together they form a perfect pair, and for the first time in ages Mallory wonders what it would be like to love, and be loved, again.

  • literally the sweetest, cutest, fluffiest book ever
  • I honestly love this story and think that the pacing of it was perfect ‐ it was the perfect in between of a slow burn and a fast paced romance (so medium ig?? is that a term ppl use idk)
  • This story was told through Mallory’s POV (who I love sm) ‐ I love the way she talks to Addison and didn’t even mind that she called her “darling” which I usually find to be cringey but it just fit her vibe so well
  • Addison quite literally is just the sweetest thing ever & I love the fact that she fell for Mallory so quickly but was so patient w/ her – the pining was *chef’s kiss*
  • The age gap in this being 15 yrs tho is actually crazy and also a bit uncessercary I feel like – it definitely wasn’t at the forefront of the story / plot and didn’t affect the characters at all – none of the side characters mention it either so you kind of forget that it even exists
  • Loved all the talk about Nina and Clara it got me hyped to read Evoltion + I love how we get to see a lot more of how Clara feels bc Evoltion is from Nina’s POV
  • Would 1000% read again
  • their first meeting @ the coffee shop
  • All the teasing from their friends (not about the age gap lol)
  • Christmas scene / first kiss
  • their first and last performance
