synopsis
Jennifer Kincaid, on her way to a writer’s workshop in the Colorado mountain town of Lake City, gets lost and is stranded by an avalanche.
Catherine Ryan-Barrett, running from the fame and fortune of her family name, wants nothing more to spend the winter alone and sequestered in her high mountain cabin. She is not prepared for a party crasher.
After spending two months together, they form an unlikely friendship that deepens even further. But after the spring thaw, Jen returns to her life in Santa Fe—and to the man who wants to marry her. All she knows of the woman who rescued her is her name… Ryan.
rant
- I wanted to like this so bad but god it did not live up to my expectations
- I wanted it to be like Cabin Crashed by Nicole Pyland and it was but this was like a worse version of it
- My biggest issue came w/ her brother who was just absolutely disgusting and the whole hiding in the closet while watching your sister fucks your girlfriend and enjoying it made me want to throw up ‐ and Ryan acted all cool about it?? Like I’m barfing everywhere I wanted to dnf right then but there was only like a chapter left
- Ryan showing up doing Jen then leaving was so foul especially knowing Jen was religious and struggling w/ her sexuality ‐ Ryan seems a bit self centered not anything too bad but she definitely doesn’t think through how her actions might hurt others ‐ this is lowkey understandable knowing that most of her family is bat shit though
- Jen was honestly the saving grace of this story she was sweet but also boring ‐ this whole book was kind of just boring neither of their lives were that interesting
- Can’t even remember if Jen even ended up writing the book she wanted to
- I also really liked the side characters and maybe might venture into reading their books but at the same time I don’t think I like this author very much
- Would not read again
