synopsis
Pam is happy. She’s a professional wrestler, surrounded by friends and co-workers who adore her and a doting Mexican aunt who has been spoiling her since she was a child. She and her cousin Sean run their own wrestling club, the Beatcave, in Camden Town, and her life is basically perfect. Emphasis on basically.
Lea, known to the world as AJ Käss, is a world-wide famous influencer and journalist coming back to London after living in Los Angeles for the past couple of years. She’s popular among her acquaintances in LA, but has always been a loner. Family business suddenly brought her back to England and she’s already looking forward to going back to the California sun.
Their paths cross one night in the dim lights of the Beatcave, and that is all it takes for their stories to become their story.
OR
A bunch of queer disasters wrestling in London.
rant
- Sitting down and actually really reading this I actually liked it more than I thought I would
- Pam is everything I love her she reminds me a lot of myself ‐ Lea is super sweet and chill nothing like what I thought she meant by influencer in the synopsis
- Lea actually dating Frankie in the past threw me for a huge loop ngl ‐ I’m sorry but I still can’t picture it
- The plot twist at the end was actually extremely obvious tho but ig it wasn’t for Pam so that counts for something
- Lea never really coming out and telling Pam she was staying when she knew she was staying was kind of foul
- Kind of a lot of little typos that hopefully get corrected in the future
- Really really really like the idea of sapphic wrestlers ‐ literally why is this the only book in this genre ‐ did we not alll grow up w/ crushes on literally all the hot ass women in WWE or was that just me??
- Honestly wish there was like more time w/ Lea and Pam idk it just felt like they didn’t actually spend that much one on one time in this mostly just around other ppl especially after they got together
- Um Roxie and Fiona . . . I need that book and I feel like she’s never gonna write it like I need it right now u don’t even understand I love them sm
- Love the whole found family dynamic between everyone although it can get really cringey at points but I choose to ignore it bc I can
- Perfect amount of slow burn ‐ but I felt like there could have been a little bit more substance to this there were just a couple of timing issues that kept this from being perfect
- Loved that they both were attracted to each other at first sight but still took a while to get together bc of Pam’s obliviousness even though she knew they were flirting idk she gave himbo vibes and I love himbos
- Would read again
